In a game featuring the two most lauded two-way players in the country, Myles Jack's Bruins came out on top 44-30.

Instant Dots for Instant Reactions and Instant knee-jerk reactions.

As soon as Hau'oli Kikaha went out with a stinger, the UW pass rush disappeared. JoJo Mathis had one hit in the first half on Brett Hundley but the pass rush was mostly nonexistent aside from that one play and Kikaha's sack, which is the play he was injured on. UCLA's offensive line has been much maligned for allowing teams to tee off on its quarterback. Washington wasn't able to capitalize and it cost them with Hundley going 29/36 (!!!!) for 302 yards and two touchdowns passing and rushing.

The Pac-12 officiating needs a change. Earlier, they blew this touchdown dead because of a block. A block. Then the officials prevented the Huskies from running a fake punt when they threw a flag (later picked up) for an illegal substitution. This allowed UCLA to see that Lindquist and Shaq Thompson were both in the game and one of them (probably Lindquist) was going to get the ball to run up the middle. Unacceptable.

After going into halftime with the Huskies trailing 31-10, I struggled switching my cable box back to Fox Sports 1 from CBS, airing the Alabama vs. LSU game.

True freshman Brayden Lenius had a nice catch on UW's first drive when he ran a wheel route from the slot and was thrown the ball high where he was asked to make a play over the top of the defensive back covering him. The play was very well-executed with good blocking, an amazing throw from Cyler Miles and a great catch from Lenius. It was a great play, but this is how I expect Chris Petersen and Jonathan Smith to use Kasen Williams. Allow him to use his physicality and large frame to prevent defenders from making a play on the ball

I always hesitate to criticize a play-caller. It is my last resort. But Washington's opening drive of the second half had me in disbelief:

The biggest problem for the Huskies (offensively) was an inability to protect Cyler Miles. Later in the game that was less of an issue when the Huskies changed the gameplan to running the ball straight at the UCLA defense, which worked. It wasn't enough though.

Before I say anything else, I just want to say that every single penalty had to come at the worst possible time. It just had to happen that way. I hate Pac-12 refs. And Keith Price, please heal up and get better.

Washington lost their QB, and lost the game against UCLA 41-31. Poorly timed penalties and the fumblies doomed

The game got off to a sour note for Washington, the first victims to the Vaseline-covered footballs-. After a busted screen to Bishop Sankey, Austin Seferian-Jenkins had a first down completion on a quick slant route that he fumbled into UCLA hands, giving UCLA a short field. Brett Hundley felt bad and tried to give Sean Parker the ball, but the zebras decided the ball was UCLA's.

Myles Jack then showed his dual-threat capabilities by trucking through the entire Washington defense for a touchdown. Things weren't looking too hot for the Dawgs. UW then made the collective decision that UCLA deserved the football. Bishop Sankey brought in the next gift, this one being a pop fly caught by Eddie Vanderdoes.

Cassius Marsh, UCLA defensive end, caught a touchdown. Jack isn't the only player who swings both ways, oh! 14-0

Bishop Sankey struggled to find yards on the first sustained drive for UW. Most of the yards on that drive came by way of the cannon attached to Keith Price's shoulder. Sankey did get into the endzone at the end of the drive to give Washington their first score of the evening. 14-7 UCLA

Myles Jack then scored another touchdown. The broadcast said this: 10 carries, 3 TDs. The first <s>three</s> <s>four</s> five touchdowns for UCLA were all scored by defensive players... playing on offense. Jack had four of them.

Refer to opening sentence on what happened next. Long TD called back because of a questionable hands to the face penalty. Myles Jack scored a touchdown.

Washington's offense, unimpeded by penalties and fumbles, scored 10 points in the final seven minutes, which also featured UCLA's first punt of the game, in between the touchdown and the field goal.

Price came out sharp, hitting on his first five passes. His accuracy wasn't pinpoint, but it was good enough to get the ball to receivers who had little trouble getting open for explosive plays down the field. Then his arm fell off. He took some lumps on his last plays of the first half, and he didn't resume his position under center after the half. Price's final line: 10/18 181 yards, 1 TD.

Cyler Miles took over after the slippery football made an appearance again on the opening kickoff, fumbled by UCLA. Jaydon Mickens and Sankey were heavily featured on the following drive, which culminated in Miles' first career touchdown pass, a play-action floater to ASJ.

After a methodical ground and pound attack yielded yet another Jack touchdown, Steve Sarkisian called for a fake punt on 4th and nine. It was successful, for the second time this season. It didn't matter, as eventually Travis Coons' field goal attempt was blocked. The defense held, getting their O the ball back, and the drive lasted through the third quarter into the fourth, with UW down 34-24. Washington eventually punted.

Eventually, Washington ended up in a third and one situation that will be torched into the memories of Washington fans. A WILDCAT run with Bishop Sankey lost a yard because that's not going to work more than once. It actually worked for a decent run earlier in the game. Then a slant was thrown to Damore'ea Stringfellow (in the middle of a breakout game, more on him later) who may or may not have been interfered with. Discuss.

UCLA scored a touchdown. Washington scored a touchdown. Oh, to that Stringfellow guy. He showed some serious leg drive after catching a pass and powering his way through two UCLA tacklers. That was the last big play for Washington, as the next two drives for Washington ended in Cyler Miles interceptions. One could be blamed on a poor throw. The other was into triple coverage.

So, yeah. The offense looked really good until Price was knocked out. The defense couldn't stop Myles Jack.

Dots.

Stringfellow busted out. A true freshman who had three career catches finished this game with a statline fit for a star: 8 catches, 148 yards and a TD. He also had a long touchdown pass called back for a questionable hands to the face penalty by Dexter Charles.

He is the perfect fit for a big, physical wideout to replace exactly what Kasen Williams gave the Huskies. No, he is not Williams. He does bring a similar skillset and has the ability to be Williams in the next couple of years.

Like I mentioned earlier, Keith Price looked good. This loss is not on him at all. I saw fans on twitter insulting his toughness and his ability. Just, wow.

Cyler Miles did better than I expected. The offense didn't completely stall with him running the show, and he actually completed some semi-deep throws. The WRs were able to get separation consistently throughout the entire game, and that definitely was a big help to the redshirt freshman.

Bishop Sankey didn't have many holes to run through. I can already pick Anthony's "WTF Award:" the wildcat call with Sankey taking the snap followed by the slant to Stringfellow. He was unhappy about it on Twitter.

Why the hell are you running the wildcat
— UW Dawg Pound (@UWSBN) November 16, 2013

Pass rush looked good. Secondary looked good. Rush defense looked terrible. How much of that was Jack? I don't know. But that is all I have to say about defense.

This loss does not put me on the fire Sark train. We were in the game up until the starting QB was injured. Even then, we were still in the game. Hard to pin this loss on him. Untimely penalties and fumbles by players who don't typically fumble put UW in an early hole.

We will let you know as soon as we find out more about Price's shoulder.

Instant Update to Instant Reactions! X-Rays are negative on the shoulder. That essentially means his collarbone isn't broken. It really means no bones are broken, but collarbone is the one that breaks, typically. Nothing else is known at this time.

Discuss this loss. That is all I got.

The first half started out slowly. The Huskies need to have their typical hot second half start.

There were a ton of questionable calls that all seemed to go UCLA's way, and the Huskies helped the Bruins out by turning the ball over and doing dumb things on defense. If not for a questionable (read: wrong) hands to the face call on Dexter Charles, this would be a three point game.

Keith Price was knocked around to end the first half, and had trouble throwing the ball on the sideline. If he can't go, the second half could be a struggle. Or it could be the perfect time for Cyler Miles to make a statement.
