It has now come down to the playoffs in the NFL, with the Wild Card weekend being the first step on the road to the Lombardi Trophy for one of these teams!
The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Miami Dolphins in a game that became more renowned for its temperature at kickoff, coming in at an unbelievably frigid -4 degrees, with an even more unbelievable -27 degree wind chill! That temp put this game as the fourth coldest in the history of the NFL playoffs. Despite the conditions, Trent McDuffie, as he has done all year, put together another really good game. He recorded 4 tackles, 3 solo, and 1 for a loss, while also chipping in 2 pass deflections, as the Chiefs cruised to a victory, 26-7.
The evening game on Sunday saw the Detroit Lions host their first home playoff game since 1994, as they took on the Los Angeles Rams. Puka Nacua had 9 receptions for 181 yards and a touchdown as the Lions held on to win 24-23.
The Bucs and our favorite Three Dawg Night defensive front took on the Eagles in Tampa. Every single pro Dawg on Tampa’s roster came to play! Cade Otton had 8 catches for 89 yards, pacing the team. The defense fared similarly, as Vita Vea recorded 2 tackles, 1 solo, plus a half sack, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka recorded 1 solo tackle, which was a sack, and it also counted as a tackle for loss, and Greg Gaines recorded 2 tackles, 1 solo and a sack as the Bucs dominated, winning 32-9.
We shall see if these pro Dawgs can keep the positive momentum going into the divisional round, so I will talk to you next week in that report!
