Happy New Year Dawg fans! Today is a big day, with the Sugar Bowl just around the corner. But in the meantime, let’s start 2024 off right with some Pro Dawgs! The playoffs are two weeks away, with spots in the postseason still up for grabs. Let’s get right to it, starting with Sunday morning’s games.

Let’s start with an AFC East clash as the Bills took on the Patriots at home. Taylor Rapp recorded one tackle for the Bills, and Myles Bryant had 3 tackles for the Patriots as Buffalo won, 27-21. The Bears took on the Falcons at Soldier Field. With neither team mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, the Bears put on a show at home. Kyler Gordon recorded 3 tackles, 2 solo, and a pass deflection to continue a very good season, and make his case for Pro Dawg Defensive Player of the Year!

The Rams faced the Giants at home, and Puka Nacua turned in another stellar performance. The rookie hauled in 5 catches for 118 yards (including a short pass he took 80 yards, his career long) and had 2 rushes for 19 yards, as the Rams emerged victorious 26-25, clinching a playoff spot with the win.

Let’s move on to Tampa now, where the NFC South leading Bucs faced off against the Saints. Outside of the score, it was a better day for the boys on the Three Dawg Night front. Vita Vea had 6 total tackles, 3 solo, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka had 3 tackles, 1 solo and Greg Gaines had 1 solo tackle. On offense, Cade Otton had 2 catches for 10 yards as the Bucs lost 23-13.

The surprise of the day was undoubtedly the struggling Cardinals upsetting the high powered Philadelphia Eagles. In a 35-31 victory, Budda Baker was pretty good, recording 4 tackles, 2 solo and 2 for a loss, and continuing an excellent year!

Onto the afternoon games now, starting in Houston. Elijah Molden turned in an excellent individual performance for the Titans, recording 7 tackles, 6 of them solo. His team fell short, however, losing 26-3 to the Texans. In Jacksonville, the Panthers were shut out by the Jags. Alex Cook recorded a solo tackle as the Panthers fell 26-0.

At Arrowhead, the Bengals took on the Chiefs. Jake Browning and Drew Sample took on Trent McDuffie. Browning went 19/33 for 197 yards and a touchdown, plus 7 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Drew Sample had 3 catches for 21 yards. Trent McDuffie had 6 tackles, 5 solo as the Chiefs emerged victorious, 25-17.
