Dad's Accomplishment Rankings After Week 14

While there were only 10 games last weekend, most were significant. There is still one more game before the bowl games (Army vs Navy), but it should have little impact on my top-25. So below is my updated Accomplishment Rankings. In the table I've also compared my rankings to the final CFP rankings.

I was hoping that my rankings would help with the debate about whether Florida State should have been included in the CFP. Instead, I have a tie between Alabama and Florida State. Oh well, I can't you my rankings as part of an argument one way or the other.

My rankings match the CFP rankings for 5 of the 25 teams, and I'm within 1 place for 10 of the 25.

UW is one of the teams that is only different by 1 place, but that one place is significant because I have UW at #1 instead of #2. And I'm not the only one that thinks UW's accomplishments should have them at #1; several voters in both the AP and Coaches polls have UW at #1, too.

Arizona is the team that is off the most. They are hurt in my rankings because they lost to a 5-7 Mississippi State team early in the season, and their loss to USC doesn't look as good anymore. (Both of those losses were in OT.)

My rankings include 23 of the 25 the teams. The two teams that I have are Utah and Kansas. The two teams that the CFP has are Tennessee and SMU. I have Tennessee at #30 and SMU at #37. I've expressed my doubts about Tennessee in previous posts, so I won't go over that again. SMU did win the American Athletic Conference, but they have only two wins over teams with winning records, plus a loss to TCU (5-7). I have Troy, which won the Sun Belt (and with the same 11-2 record), ranked higher than SMU (#29). It doesn't really matter which is higher since my rankings and the CFP rankings both have Liberty as the highest Group-of-Five team, so they get to play in a NY6 game-in this case, the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon.
