The Huskies received the National Letter of Intent from one of their most important recruits today. Dermaricus Davis, a 6’5” QB from Southern California, officially signed with the Dawgs.
Davis is a four-star recruit by the 247 composite ranking, coming in as the #26 QB in the county for the 2024 class. He committed to UW in late June after his official visit. He chose Washington over finalists Arizona and Oregon State, though he had numerous other offers. Davis threw for 25 TDs and only 7 Ints and ran for another 7 TDs in his senior season. Davis has mobility and can use it when needed, but prefers to function as a passer and use his legs to find better places to make throws.
Davis will fill out the QB room for the Dawgs in ‘24. Recent Mississippi State grad transfer addition Will Rogers will be the presumptive starter. Austin Mack and SDSU transfer William Haskell have more time in the program than Davis, so will likely slot in ahead of him in the depth chart. Davis will likely take a redshirt in ‘24 while putting on some weight to fill out his lanky frame and learning the intricacies of the offense.
Welcome to Montlake, Dermaricus!
