We won’t talk about UW’s odds to win in the Sugar Bowl or the National Championship Game-at least partly because UW has been good at defying the odds.

Football Dots

  • Troy Fautanu wins the Morris Trophy for the top offensive lineman in the Pac-12 (as voted by the players).
  • ESPN talks about how UW built its roster ($), and asks if UW is “America’s Team” in the CFP. (If the video doesn’t show-or work-below, it should be on this site.)
  • Dan Raley looks at which Huskies are showing up on NFL Mock Drafts. Rome Odunze appeared in the first round in 9 of 10 mock drafts that he looked at. Bralen Trice appeared in the first round in 8 of 10 mock drafts. Michael Penix Jr. appeared in the first round in just 3 of the 10 mock drafts. Troy Fautanu was in 4 of 10 mock drafts. And Ja’Lynn Polk appeared in 1 of the 10.
  • UW’s Special Teams is #5 in the country according to Pro Football Focus.
  • Jalen McMillan, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Dillon Johnson will be signing autographs next Thursday (Dec. 21) at 6:30 PM at Mill Creek Sports.

UW Athletics Dots

  • Both the UW Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams were the ESPN Team of the Week.
  • The UW Women’s team was also the USBWA Team of the Week.
  • UW’s May Pertofsky is the first Husky drafted into the Pro Volleyball Federation. She was drafted by the Atlanta Vibe.
  • UW athletes partnered with the Forgotten Childrens Fund to do some gift-wrapping.

Bonus Dot

  • Reflections on the one year anniversary of Mike Leach’s passing.
