All We Hear Is Purple: Do You Wanna Get Shot?

Andrew and Mark discuss the perils of being a Dawg in Coug Country

NCAA Football: Washington at Washington State James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Hello and welcome to All We Hear Is Purple!

After a successful debut episode, Mark Schafer is back for round two. Andrew and Mark talk about a messy, soggy, wonderful win in Corvallis. The weather had such an impact on the strategies and tactics, that it’s hard to learn much about the passing game or tackling. Nonetheless, the Dawgs continue to struggle to wrap up ball-carries, which is something that must change to make the CFP. On the other hand, Michael Penix, Rome Odunze, and Jabar Muhammad made enough plays to get a tough win in a very difficult environment.

Looking ahead, Mark tells the story of being a Husky fan on a WSU satellite campus, including the threats of violence associated with his fandom. The Apple Cup will continue for at least another half-decade, so this match-up doesn’t have the finality of last week’s. The Cougars have struggled to defend the run. How will the Dawgs attack with the possibility of a hobbled or unavailable Dillon Johnson? On the other side, can the Huskies get to Cam Ward and make him uncomfortable enough to disrupt the passing game?

Give it a listen:

As always, thanks for listening, and Go Dawgs.
