Pro Dawgs Report: Week 7

Puka’s big day, a matchup between DBs and more from the pro Dawgs in Week 7

It is Week 7 of the NFL and there was plenty to get to in regards to former Dawgs’ performances on the field, but first, a bit of news. It broke on Tuesday that the LA Rams signed running back Myles Gaskin to their active roster from Minnesota’s practice squad. He didn’t suit up today, but keep an eye out for his future exploits, to be logged in these reports! On with the action.

Starting in Chicago, we had dueling defensive Dawgs, as Kyler Gordon’s Chicago Bears took on the Las Vegas Raiders and Marcus Peters. Both turned in stellar performances, each recording seven tackles. Marcus Peters recorded a pass deflection for the Raiders to go along with 2 solo tackles, while Kyler Gordon recorded a hit on the QB, as the Bears beat the Raiders, 30-12.

The Buccaneers took on the Atlanta Falcons at home, and the former Dawgs for Tampa did not disappoint on either side of the ball. Cade Otton snagged 5 passes for 43 yards for the offense, and the Three Dawg Night front made their presence known. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka led the way with 6 tackles (4 solo, 1 for loss), while Greg Gaines recorded 4 tackles of his own (1 solo). Vita Vea recorded 2 solo tackles to round out the defensive effort as the Bucs fell, 16-13, on a last second field goal.

Heading to Kansas City, the Chargers took on Trent McDuffie and the Chiefs. McDuffie had a very active day for KC, recording 5 solo tackles, as the Chiefs emerged victorious over the Chargers, 31-17.

The Bills took on the Patriots in New England in a divisional clash. Myles Bryant had 5 tackles, 4 solo for the Pats, and Taylor Rapp recorded a solo tackle for the Bills. The Patriots ultimately stunned the Bills 29-26, giving Bill Belichick his 300th career win.

Moving to the afternoon slate, there was palpable excitement if you were a Cardinals fan, as Budda Baker has returned from his hamstring injury. He immediately provided a contribution for Arizona, tallying 6 tackles, with 1 for loss in his first game back against Seattle. Ezekiel Turner was also a contributor, getting 1 tackle, as Seattle beat Arizona 20-10.

In Los Angeles, the performance of the day went to Puka Nacua, who had a bounce back game, recording 8 catches for 158 yards on 12 targets, bringing his season total to 58 catches for 752 yards. This, however wasn’t enough, as the Rams fell to the Steelers 17-24.

On Sunday Night, the Miami Dolphins took on the Philadelphia Eagles. Salvon Ahmed had 2 carries for 3 yards and also brought in 1 catch for 0 yards as the Eagles beat the Dolphins 31-17

On Monday Night, the Minnesota Vikings will take on the San Francisco 49ers. We’ll see what Byron Murphy can do against Brock Purdy and the rest of the Niners offense, as the Vikings will try to steal one in prime time.
