#Woof: Huskies Land Another 2024 Recruit

Washington has flipped former Arizona commit, 3-Star Edge Player Keona Wilhite

NCAA Football: Washington at Arizona Zachary BonDurant-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Monday Husky fans. The Huskies continued adding to their 2024 class when they received a commitment from Keona Wilhite, a 3-star edge player, from Salpointe Catholic HS, AZ.

Wilhite, who recently de-committed from Arizona, decided to commit to UW over offers from Arizona, UCLA, Oregon State, Nebraska, and Colorado. He took an official visit to Washington the weekend after committing to Arizona back in June, showing that he always had strong interest in the Huskies despite that pledge. Listed at 6’5” and around 236 pounds, Wilhite is a very lengthy edge who has a very good motor.

The Huskies are set to lose ZTF and Bralen Trice (plus backup Sekai Afoau-Asau) after this season and adding Wilhite (along with Noah Carter, Dominic Kirks, and Ratumana Bulabalavu) adds more length and speed along the edge. I would expect to see Wilhite redshirt a season and probably vie for significant playing time in the 2025 season.

Playing alongside 5-star recruit Elijah Rushing, Wilhite has been overshadowed at times, but looks the part and should be a contributor for the Husky program. He had 4.5 sacks last fall while playing a half-season due to Arizona transfer rules. Wilhite also joins a recent trend of edge players from Arizona that have signed with or have committed to Washington: Bralen Trice, Lance Holtzclaw, and now Carter and Wilhite.

Here are some of his highlights so far this season:

Wilhite is the 15th commit in the 2024 class and 4th edge (though Dominic Kirks or Ratumana Bulabalavu could both grow into a future interior player).

That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
