The Huskies got some welcome news today when 4-star tight end Ryan Otton from Tumwater HS, WA committed to UW. Otton, who is the younger brother of current Husky Cade, is rated as the 5th best tight end in the 2022 class. The Huskies were able to beat out Oregon, Stanford, and Oregon State to land Otton who projects to follow his brother in becoming one of the better tight ends for the Huskies.
Listed at 6’6” and around 225 pounds Otton can block and also catch the very well ball. It’s expected that Cade will move on to the NFL after this season and so the two won’t be on campus at the same time. But even after Cade leaves the tight end room will still have Quentin Moore, Mark Redman, Jack Westover, Devin Culp, and others. With those guys in front of him Otton can probably redshirt and be ready to play in the 2023 season.
When you watch him play you can see how much of a weapon he is as a receiver and after a year of acclimating himself he should be a stellar blocker as well.
Extremely excited to announce my commitment to the University of Washington!! pic.twitter.com/n9PHX76MTl— Ryan Otton (@RyanOtton) July 30, 2021
Otton is the 2nd in-state tight end the Huskies are bringing in for 2022 along with Chance Bogan. Welcome to Montlake Ryan!
