Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Husky coaches have been busy this last week on the recruiting trail. With official visits starting, the Huskies have started hosting recruits and this weekend they hosted their biggest target.
5 star defensive lineman JT Tuimoloau from Eastside Catholic HS, WA has been on campus this weekend to officially check out UW. Luckily for the Huskies they were able to get the first visit from Tuimoloau, who is also scheduled to visit Oregon, USC, Ohio State, and Alabama. Rated as the best prospect in the 2021 class by 247sports, Tuimoloau is being recruited by the Huskies as a outside linebacker with the ability to slide in and play on the line. The Huskies have battled as hard as they can and they have put themselves in a good position to try and land his commitment. It sounds like Tuimoloau will take all of his visits and then make a decision as quickly as he can shortly thereafter (his last visit is scheduled for the final weekend in June). The Huskies will wait as long as they need for JT Tuimoloau, and would love to land him.
The other piece of news this week comes from the 2023 class. The Huskies extended a new offer to Micah Banuelos from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA. Listed at 6’3” and around 285 pounds, Banuelos is rated as the 16th best interior offensive lineman in the 2023 class. The Huskies joined Nevada and Texas A&M in offering Banuelos so far. When you watch his film you can see how physical and strong Banuelos is. The Huskies are recruiting Banuelos as an interior offensive lineman, and right now it looks like they have the inside track to land him.
The Huskies are set to host several 2022 official visitors the last weekend of June (which is their big recruiting weekend). Once that list gets finalized we will make sure to post the list and share what we know. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
