Happy Father’s Day Husky fans. I hope all of you dads are getting some good quality time with your families. The Husky coaches are set to host their first official visitors, in 2021, next weekend when 7 official visitors are set to check out Montlake. The Huskies currently have 6 commits in the class and are looking to bring in around 15-17 commits in the 2022 class. Here is a look at who is set to visit Montlake:
4 star cornerback Benjamin Morrison from Brophy College Prep HS, AZ is set to check out his childhood favorite school. After visiting Notre Dame, and Oregon the Huskies get their shot to try and land the 31st ranked cornerback in the country. With offers from around the country Morrison can pretty much choose where he wants to go. Listed at 6’0” and around 175 pounds, Morrison is a classic corner who the Huskies would love to add. The Huskies main competition is Notre Dame and we should see a decision soon after Morrison visits.
4 star running back Emeka Megwa from Timber Creek HS, TX is set to check out Montlake as well. Listed at around 6’1” and 220 pounds the Huskies are hoping they can bring in Megwa as their running back in the 2022 class. Other schools are recruiting Megwa as an athlete but running backs coach Keith Bhonpha has targeted Megwa and been recruiting him as hard as anyone. The Huskies are the favorite to land Megwa, and they are hoping to close him after he visits.
4 star tight end Ryan Otton from Tumwater HS, WA is finally set to check out the Husky campus. Otton, who is rated as the 5th best tight end by 247sports, has already checked out Oregon State and Stanford. The Huskies have been the favorite for while for Otton, who holds offers from most of the pac 12. Listed at around 6’6” and 225 pounds Otton has a classic tight end frame and should he join the Huskies, hopefully help fill the void if his brother Ryan Otton decides to declare for the 2022 draft (which is likely).
4 star linebacker Tevarau Tafiti from Punahou HS, HI is yet another 4 star visitor that is set to check out Montlake next weekend. The 29th ranked linebacker has already checked out Vanderbilt and Stanford, but is set to check out UW. The Huskies are recruiting Tafiti as an outside linebacker with outside linebacker coach Ikaika Malloe running point for the Huskies. The race to land the 6’3” and 220 pound linebacker looks like it’s a 3 team race between Vanderbilt and Stanford.
3 star defensive lineman Ben Roberts from East HS, UT has been wanting to check out UW for a while. The Huskies are recruiting Roberts as a defensive tackle, and Roberts is currently rated as the 60th defensive lineman in the country (but will probably be rated higher when re-rankings happen). Roberts, who is listed at 6’4” and around 290 pounds, has already checked out Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. The Huskies have been viewed as the favorite for Roberts are looking to close him on his visit.
3 star outside linebacker Lance Holtzclaw from Desert Ridge HS, AZ was offered by the Huskies a couple of months ago and is another visitor that will visit Husky Stadium. Listed at 6’4” and around 200 pounds Holtzclaw is a good athlete that plays wideout and also on defense. The Huskies are going to bring in at least 1 outside linebacker in the 2022 class and it looks like it’s a race between Tafiti and Holtzclaw. The Huskies are battling Vanderbilt and Oregon State for Holtzclaw.
The last visitor on the list is 3 star quarterback commit Jackson Stratton from La Jolla HS, CA. The Huskies offered and were able to reel in Stratton last month. Listed at 6’4” and around 205 pounds Stratton is rated as the 58th best quarterback in the country. The Huskies wanted to bring in a quarterback in the 2022 class and Stratton is a quarterback with lots of potential and upside.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
