After years of waiting we finally get a real spring game!

On the one hand it feels like it has been forever since we’ve gotten to have a spring game. Last year spring practices were cancelled due to COVID which means it’s been more than 2 years since the last time there was even a spring exhibition. On the other hand it feels like just yesterday that the first spring practice of 2021 started and the last month has absolutely flown by us.

The action starts off at 12p today and is viewable on Pac-12 Networks for those that consider things on that channel viewable. Unlike in the Chris Petersen era the plan is for this to be structured like an actual game and rather than a series of scrimmage opportunities for the 1’s and 2’s the roster was divided into a purple and gold squad each containing half the players.

You can find the rosters here which were selected by OL Jaxson Kirkland and TE Cade Otton. The Gold team led by Kirkland has a decided edge at the defensive line spot while the purple team led by Otton will look the most like the 1st team offense at the skill positions.

Approximately 9,000 tickets were sold to the event with attendance not fully open due to public health restrictions. However the event will give a number of 2022 and 2023 recruits the opportunity to attend in person as an unofficial visit.
