Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Extend A New 2023 Offer & Other Notes

Huskies Offer A 2023 Tight End & Other Notes

NCAA Football: Utah at Washington Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Sunday Husky fans. This last week saw the Husky coaches extend a new offer while also making the cut for one of their top DB prospects.

Husky coaches have been watching 2023 tight Jackson Bowers from Mountain View HS, AZ for a while. Listed at 6’5” and around 225 pounds Bowers finally got an offer from UW after the coaches had seen some more of his film. With offers from ASU, Cal, and Utah already Bowers looks like he will be one of the top tight ends in the West in the 2023 class. Right now Bowers is working on improving his pass blocking, however he’s an excellent receiver already and the Huskies would love to add a player like Bowers to their tight end room.

The other news that happened this last week was when 4 star cornerback Benjamin Morrison from Brophy College Prep HS, AZ trimmed his list of schools down to a top 10. The Huskies made the list along with Notre Dame, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan, and several other schools. Listed at 6’0” and around 175 pounds, Morrison can play outside or at the nickel position. When you watch his film you can see his cover abilities and his instincts. 247sports has Morrison rated as the 33rd best cornerback in the 2022 class. The Huskies have been the childhood favorite for Morrison but they have some work in front of them to get Morrison in the boat. It sounds like the Huskies will try to add at least 1 corner in the 2022 class, with Morrison being a strong possibility for that slot right now.

With the high school season started in Washington state, and California shortly expect the Husky staff to extend some new offers after being able to watch some new film of prospects.
