Recruiting Roundup: Future Husky QB Breaks A Record

Happy Sunday Husky fans. There hasn’t been much new news since last week, however the Husky team is about to kick off spring ball. One new Husky who will be practicing this spring just broke a pretty big record in his last high school game.

5 star QB signee Sam Huard from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA threw for 514 yards and 8 touchdowns in his last high school game. Heading into the night, Huard only needed 333 yards to break the all time Washington state passing record held by Brett Rypien. Huard who is the highest rated QB to enroll at UW in recent memory, will join the Husky program this next week. The Husky QB room will have 3 scholarship quarterbacks this spring (Huard, Dylan Morris, and grad transfer Patrick O’Brien). Enrolling this spring will allow Huard to hit the ground running and have a chance to try and unseat Dylan Morris as the starting QB for UW.

The Husky coaches continue to check out prospects on the recruiting trail, and they will be setting up some officials visits here soon. With only 4 weeks of official visits starting June 1st, the Husky coaches will be trying to line up some of their more important recruits to check out Husky Stadium. Historically the Huskies have tried to keep the spring visits limited to prospects who plan on committing early. This year they may switch it up and try to host more prospects on campus earlier. I would expect hearing about some official visits getting set up in the next couple of weeks and when they are set up I will be sure to let you know.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
