Basketball Dots:

  • Another Men’s Basketball game, another loss (sorry for the reminder), but there were moments of excitement and genuine hope
  • What buoyed the team against the Bruins, and what’s been missing for much of the season, was production off the bench. Marcus Tsohonis lit up the scoreboard with a team-leading 22 pts on 6/9 from 3 off the bench
  • As always, Max is on the spot with the full game recap for those that missed the game this weekend
  • Elsewhere in the Husky Basketball universe, the UW Women’s Basketball Team played a couple of games this weekend; highlighted by a dominant 50-35 win over ASU
  • While a little less exciting, but special none-the-less, Sunday’s game vs. #10 Arizona was Senior Night for a number of our departing Dawgs

Softball Dots:

  • Our #2-ranked Softball Team is off to a hot start to the season with a 3-0 sweep this weekend of Southern Utah, UNLV, and Dixie State to finish a perfect 5-0 in the UNLV Tournament
  • Notably this weekend, Gabbie Plain became the second Husky to throw a perfect game in a season opener
  • Our lineup also brought the fireworks with a record-tying 9 homeruns against Southern Utah

Elsewhere Around the Athletic Dept:

  • UW Track & Field’s Sam Tanner had himself a career day this weekend with a collegiate record in the 1500-meter
  • Our #10-ranked Volleyball Team finished the weekend with a dominant 3-0 sweep over #18 UCLA to split the hotly contested weekend series after dropping Friday’s match 2-3

Bonus Dots:

  • In case you were waiting for any mention of snow in the dots, here you go.
  • Extra bonus dots today for your Monday, ICYMI, our resident poet was on the spot with a Valentine’s Day poem for the Husky faithful
