Happy Sunday Husky fans. With the 2021 class in the rear view mirror the Husky staff have turned their attention to the 2022 and 2023 classes. Over the last couple of weeks the Husky staff has extended some new offers some of which I detailed out last week). Over the next several weeks the news here will likely be about new offers going out as it sounds like the NCAA will push back the dead period again from their current April timeframe (which will not allow schools to officially host players on campus).
So far the Husky staff have offered 61 players in the 2022 class and 14 in the 2023 class. For the 2022 class it sounds like it’s going to be a smaller class, and as I have mentioned before it’s likely going to be around 15-18 players (depending on attrition). 10 of the offers extended in 2022 class have been to in state players and that number will probably hit 12-15 when it’s all said and done. If I had to guess you will probably see another 20-30 offers get extended this spring after some more players are able to get some film up. The 2023 class should be back up to 20-25 commits in the class.
Outside linebacker coach Ikaika Malloe just extended another new offer this last week to Teitum Tuioti from Lincoln Southeast HS, NE. Listed at around 6’3” and 215 pounds Tuioti is an outside linebacker with offers from Ole Miss, Boise State, and Nebraska. The Huskies offered Tuioti as an outside linebacker and when you watch him play you can see that he is a pass rushing specialist that can really get to the quarterback. His dad currently coaches for the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a defensive line coach, and I assume it will be tough to pry him away from there but the Huskies are trying. Tuioti doesn’t currently have a rating from 247sports.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
