Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Host Several Unofficial Visitors

NCAA Football: Oregon at Washington Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Sunday Husky fans. I don’t want to delve into the game yesterday or anything that happened in this post. I will just say that it was frustrating to watch. In the biggest game of the year the Husky staff was able to get some key recruits up to campus for an unofficial visits.

Among the many recruits in attendance, on of the highest profile targets (in the 2023 class) was 4 star safety Braxton Myers from Coppell HS, TX. Rated as the 5th best safety in the 2023 class the Huskies have been recruiting Myers for a while and the fact that they were able to get him to pay his own way to the game speaks volumes to how interested he is in the program. With offers around the country including Michigan, LSU, and Oklahoma the Huskies have their work cut out to try and land him, but they have at least piqued his interest.

Also in attendance was 4 star defensive back Rodrick Pleasant from Junipero Serra HS, CA. Rated as the 98th best player and 11th best cornerback in the country, Pleasant is a speed star (10.3 100 meter speed) that the Huskies would love to add to their roster. The Huskies have some major competition to land him, with USC, Michigan and Oregon already heavily after him.

4 star tight end Riley Williams from Central Catholic HS, OR was also in attendance for the rivalry game yesterday. Rated as the 82nd best player and 4th best tight end, Williams is a huge target for the Huskies in the 2023 class and his recruitment looks like a classic battle of UW going head to head against Oregon. Listed at 6’5” and around 230 pounds, Williams has ideal size already for the position and will be a huge weapon for whatever team that is able to land him.

Also in attendance locally were some important targets in the 2023 and 2024 classes. 2023 4 star cornerback Jasiah Wagoner from Spanaway HS, WA was in attendance and he was joined by 3 star 2023 offensive lineman Landen Hatchett from Ferndale HS, WA. 4 star running back Jayden Limar from Lake Stevens HS, WA was also at the game. All of those guys have been offered and are being recruited heavily by the Husky staff. From the 2024 class, 4 star running back Jason Brown from O’Dea HS, WA was also in attendance.

It sounds like the first weekend of official visits is going to be the 15th of December. Once we get closer we should have a list of recruits that will be on campus.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
