Recruiting Roundup: Husky Commits Shine One The Field

NCAA Football: Washington at Oregon State Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Sunday Husky fans. After another tough loss last night the Huskies will try to regroup during their bye week (with the coaches probably hitting the road as well to see some guys). The Husky class still has 9 commits (taking away Emeka Megwa from the commit list since he’s enrolled). There hasn’t been a ton going on in the recruiting front, but a few Husky commits have been having a good season so far.

3 star defensive back TJ Hall from San Joaquin Memorial HS, CA has been showcasing his skill set on both sides of the ball. This last week he made an incredible catch at wideout, to help his team in a 42-7 win. The Huskies are bringing in Hall as a defensive back but he does have the ball skills to play both sides if he wanted. Hall should see his ranking rise when the next major re-ranking is done.

Another UW commit that has been having a really good season so far is 3 star offensive line commit Vega Ioane from Graham Kapowsin HS, WA. So far he has shown himself to be one of the better offensive lineman on the west coast and he was just bumped up by 247sports to a fringe 4 star prospect after his strong start to the season. Ioane dropped his weight down to 315 pounds and has been very dominant and actually outplayed 4 star Oregon duck commit Dave Iuli. By the end of the season it’s fairly likely that Ioane will get bumped up to a 4 star prospect with 247sports.

That is all for today (sorry there isn’t a ton going on, but if the Husky staff hits the recruiting road I’ll make sure to post some notes on where they went). As always follow me @asieverkropp.
