Pro Dawgs Week 6: The Taylor Rapp Show

Who needs wins when you have the Pro Dawgs... right?

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at New York Giants Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

At this point, we are going to start pretending that Saturdays just don’t exist. Well, maybe just this season Saturdays because there have been plenty of great performances on that day from Husky greats - one of those being when Taylor Rapp had two interceptions in #4 Washington’s crushing loss to USC during his freshmen year.

For the first time since that game, Taylor Rapp plucked two interceptions out of the year which puts this week’s #ProDawg spotlight on him.

Against the New York Giants, Rapp had those two takeaways along with 5 tackles and 3 pass deflections for the L. A Rams who won 38-11 and received a two-tackle contribution from Greg Gaines. For the Giants, Dante Pettis caught 5 passes for 48 yards while teammate Danny Shelton made two tackles.

The Las Vegas Raiders were able to hand business amidst a ton of drama and Cory Littleton played a part in that by recording 11 tackles, .5 a sack, and a pass deflection. LV beat Denver 34-24. Carolina Panther Keith Taylor also had double-digit tackles as he finished with 10 along with a forced fumble and 3 pass deflections but they fell to the Minnesota Vikings 34-28.

The defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw production from Vita Vea who had 3 tackles and a sack and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka came away with 2 tackles. Meanwhile, Budda Baker, Byron Murphy Jr, and The Arizona Cardinals stayed undefeated with a 37-14 beating of the Browns. In that game, Murphy Jr had 6 tackles and a pass deflection while Baker finished with 2 tackles.

For the Miami Dolphins, Salvon Ahmed ran the ball 7 times for 22 yards and caught a pass for 15 while Myles Gaskin ran 5 times for 9 yards and caught 2 passes for 5.

The Detroit Lions’ struggles continued in their 34-11 loss to Cincinnati where Levi Onwuzurike had a pass deflection.

Lastly, the hometown Seattle Seahawks fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-20 on Sunday Night Football. For Seattle, Sidney Jones IV had 6 tackles and Will Dissly caught two passes for 8 yards and a touchdown.

Thanks for checking out this week's #ProDawgs, if next week's update comes days after a loss to the winless Arizona Wildcats then well, yeah.
