Huskies Extend Some New 2022 & 2023 & 2024 Offers

NCAA Football: UCLA at Washington Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Coming out of the bye week the Husky coaches were able to check out some film of prospects in both the 2022 and 2023 class. With only 9 commits in the 2022 so far (not counting Emeka Megwa who is already enrolled), the Huskies are in the market to try and add at least 5-6 more players to their 2022 class.

3 star defensive end Devin Thompkins from Edison HS, CA was just offered by the Huskies after putting together a good senior season. After taking a few years off of football (to play basketball), the 6’6” 220 pound Thompkins has shown flashes of a potential dominant defender on the edge. USC, Arizona, ASU, and Utah have all offered Thompkins who is rated by 247sports as the 56th best edge defender in the country. The Huskies will try to get Thompkins up for a visit and if that happens they should have a shot to reel him in and add him to the 2022 class.

The Huskies also extended an offer to 3 star defensive back Jaylon Peoples from Cedar Hill HS, TX. Listed at 6’0” and around 175 pounds, Peoples is rated as the 42nd best cornerback in the country. Peoples had been committed to Kansas up until recently, and with the Huskies needing another defensive back in the 2022, they extended an offer to him. It sounds like Peoples is going to try and schedule a visit to UW soon and if that happens I’d expect the Huskies might be in the drivers seat for Peoples and his recruitment.

2023 defensive end Princewill Umanmielen from Manor HS, TX was also offered by the Huskies this last week. Listed at 6’4” and around 215 pounds Umanmielen already holds offers from Florida, Pittsburgh, and Marshall. 247sports hasn’t rated him yet but the Huskies have seen enough to extend an offer to the 2023 edge rusher.

2024 edge rusher Elijah Rushing from Sal Pointe Catholic HS, AZ was also offered by Uw. Already rated as the #1 edge player in the 2024 class, Rushing already holds offers from Arizona, ASU, and UW. Listed at 6’5” and around 215 pounds, Rushing appears to be one of the top prospect in the 2024 class and the Huskies wanted to make sure they got on him early.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
