A bye week for the Washington Huskies meant they were unable to provide stress to fans who were, in turn, able to enjoy one of the better Saturday slates of sports that we’ve (or at least I’ve) ever seen.
Following it up was an NFL Sunday that wasn’t able to live up to the previous day’s standards but still had great finishes all around the league.
You can call him Myles Gaskin or MMFG but make sure you also mention that after his performance in Week 5 he’s this week’s featured player. The former O’Dea graduate caught 10 passes for 74 yards but he also ran 5 times for 25 yards and finished his day with two touchdowns for the Miami Dolphins while Salvon Ahmed ran the ball twice for 5 yards and caught 2 passes for 16 of them. Unfortunately for them, Miami squared off against the defending Super Bowl champs who crushed them 45-17 while Vita Vea had a tackle and .5 a sack while Joe Tryon-Shoyinka finished with a tackle.
Although the Bucs’ are defending a championship, there hasn’t been a team hotter than the Arizona Cardinals who advanced to 6-0 after a 17-10 win over San Francisco. In that game, Budda Baker had 6 tackles, broke up a pass, and came down with an interception while Ezekiel Turner recorded 2 tackles as they both helped keep their squad undefeated.
Danny Shelton was busy against the Dallas Cowboys as the New York Giant recorded 6 tackles along with .5 of a sack while John Ross caught a pass for 13 yards.
Although coming up short against the Chicago Bears, Cory Littleton came away with 6 tackles in the Las Vegas Raiders’ 20-9 defeat. Meanwhile, Kevin King finished with 6 tackles as Green Bay escaped Cincinnati with a 25-22 victory. Drew sample caught 2 passes for 9 yards for the Bengals.
In another crushing loss suffered by the Detriot Lions, Levi Onwuzurike had 4 tackles throughout the game before the Minnesota Vikings nailed a field goal as time expired to win 19-17. For the Tennessee Titans, Elijah Molden recorded 3 tackles and forced a fumble as they beat the Jaguars 37-19.
With Shaq Thompson out due to injury, Keith Taylor stepped up and finished with 4 tackles as the Carolina Panthers came up just short to the Eagles, falling 21-18. New England Patriot Myles Bryant finished 2 tackles in a 25-22 win over Houston while Tristan Vizcaino made 3/5 extra points as the Los Angeles Chargers beat the browns 47-42.
Lastly, in a clash between NFC West foes the Los Angeles Rams beat the Seahawks 26-17. For L.A, Greg Gaines had 2 tackles while Taylor Rapp finished with 1 and Sidney Jones recorded 6 of them for the Seahawks.
What are the chances that the Huskies don’t give us a stressful Saturday this weekend? Not high... but NFL Sundays are for healing - unless Russell Wilson is on your fantasy team (or actual team). Anyways, that’s it for this week’s Pro Dawgs update, see you next week!
