Recruiting Roundup: A New 2022 Offer Goes Out

Happy Sunday Husky fans. There isn’t much news to report for this last week again (the Huskies were able to secure another Preferred walk on). 2 star running back Gabriel Lopez from Shorecrest HS, WA. The biggest piece of news on the recruiting front is that the Huskies extended a new 2022 offer out in Tennessee.

3 star cornerback Myles Pollard from Ravenwood HS, TN was offered by the Huskies, who joined Alabama, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Oregon in offering him. Listed at around 6’1” and 185 pounds, Pollard is a bigger corner, whose film reminds me a lot of Keith Taylor (who just ended his Husky career). Pollard has good speed, but his length is excellent, which helps him recover quickly if he is out position. 247sports has Pollard rated as the 50th best cornerback in the country, which is a little low (he’s probably not rated higher due to his ball skills and speed, which both could be improved). However, Pollard has excellent size and length and the Huskies love DB’s like him. The Huskies have some stiff competition for him, and it will be interesting to see if he is able to check out UW in the coming months (once the dead period ends).

The Huskies have 4 commits already for the 2022 class, and it sounds like it’s going to be another smaller class (probably 15-20). I am sure the Huskies have been waiting to see more film before they offer some more 2022 guys (it’s still unknown if that will happen for a lot of states still, specifically California). If some 2022 players are able to play this spring I expect a lot more offers to be extended.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
