Recruiting Roundup: A Look At Whose Left On The 2021 Board

NCAA Football: Washington at Oregon State Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Labor Day Husky Fans. The Huskies 2021 class now has 15 commits after the commitment of Vincent Nunley. With Nunley in the boat the Husky coaches have a limited amount of spot left for the class. It looks like the Huskies have 2-3 spots left in the class. Here is a look at who is left on the Husky board:

5 star defensive tackle JT Tuimoloau from Eastside Catholic, who is the #1 player in the 2021 class, is still undecided and plans to wait until February to make his decision. The Huskies are battling USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Oregon for his commitment. Listed at 6’4” and around 275 pounds Tuimoloau is being recruited by the Huskies along the defensive line, but he is athletic enough to play on offense as well (at TE). Right now it sounds like the Huskies are probably in Tuimoloau’s top 3 (not his leader). The Huskies will continue to recruit Tuimoloau right up until he makes his decision, and they will hold a spot for him until he signs. If the Huskies can add Tuimoloau they will add to their defensive line haul which currently includes (Voi Tunuufi, Kuao Peihopa, and Siaosi Finau).

5 star Emeka Egbuka is another huge target for the Huskies, both literally and figuratively. Listed at 6’1” and 190 pounds Egbuka is rated as the #1 wide receiver in the 2021 class. The Huskies are battling Oklahoma and Ohio State for his commitment (Clemson is also recruiting him, but are thought to be a distant 4th place). The Huskies would love to add Egbuka who will wait a while before making decision. Right now I would say the Huskies have a better than average chance at landing Egbuka, but they are in for a fight to land him. Much like Tuimoloau the Huskies will hold a spot for Egbuka until he makes a decision.

The Huskies are also recruiting a couple of other players (but right now there might not be enough space for these players):

4 star defensive tackle Jacob Schuster from Tumwater HS, WA. Schuster is looking primarily at Cal, Stanford, WSU (the Huskies are still recruiting him, but right now may not have room).

5 star wideout receiver Troy Franklin from Melo-Atherton, who is currently committed to Oregon, is still talking with the Huskies and listening to what they have to say. The Huskies have a small but possible chance to get Franklin to decommit and end up at UW. Wide receiver coach Junior Adams would love to add either Troy Franklin or Egbuka and possibly both.

4 Star linebacker Logan Fano from Timpview HS, UT is also still being recruited by the Huskies (he is a delayed enrollment player who plans on going on a mission before he enrolls). Fano is currently a huge Utah lean but the Huskies could still land Fano who would count towards the 2023 when he would enroll.

That is all for now and next week I’ll take a seller look at the 2022 class. As always follow me @asieverkropp.
