Husky Coaches Extend Several New Offers & Other Notes

NCAA Football: Utah at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Fathers Day Husky Fans! The Husky coaches have been busy on the recruiting trail this last week (they landed a transfer QB, and mammoth defensive end), however they aren’t done as it’s expected that the Huskies will receive some good news around 10am today from an in state linebacker. If that prospect does commit to UW we will have a story up for that prospect (we don’t want to spoil his announcement). If the Huskies are able to land another player today they will have 10 commitments in their 2020 class.

The Huskies extended a few new offers this week in the 2021 class. Wide receiver Tsion Nunnally from Cardinal Newman HS, CA was offered after somewhat flying under the radar. The Huskies joined WSU in offering Nunnally who is rated by 247sports as the 109 rated wide receiver. Listed at 6’2” and around 175 pounds Nunnally is a good looking bigger wide receiver who lacks top end speed but is a playmaker with the ball in his hands.

3 star safety Mitch Leigber from Laguna HS, WA was another player who was offered by the Huskies. Listed at 6’1” and around 205 pounds Leigber has offers from Stanford, Northwestern, Cal, and UCLA. 247sports has Leigber rated as the 35th best safety in the country. When you watch his film you can see an instinctive safety who reminds me a lot of Taylor Rapp. The Huskies are looking to add at least 1 safety and Leigber would be a fantastic pickup if they could land him.

The Huskies also offered 3 star tight end Shield Taylor from Alexandria HS, LA. Listed at 6’4” and around 235 pounds Taylor holds offers from Stanford, Arkansas, Duke, and Boise State, and 247sports has Taylor rated as the 25th best tight end in the 2021 class. When you watch his film you can really see how physical Taylor is. His skill set fits what the Huskies look for in a tight end. The Huskies want to add at least 1 more tight end in the 2021 class after landing a commitment from Quentin Moore.

That is all for now and I hope all the dads out there have a great day! As always follow me @asieverkropp.
