Happy Wednesday Husky fans! The Huskies landed a very important player to their roster when grad transfer Kevin Thomson from Sacramento state committed to the Huskies to play his final year of eligibility in 2020. Listed at 6’2” and around 200 pounds Thomson Threw for 3,216 yards and 27 touchdowns last year in route to winning the offensive player of the year in the Big Sky Conference.

When you look at this stats you have to be impressed that the Huskies were able to land another QB who can compete this year for the starting QB job this late in the off-season (58.9% completion % with 27 touchdowns versus only 8 picks). The accuracy is a concern but it’s unclear at this point how much of the completion percentage is on Thomson versus the offense/drops. He also has excellent mobility and should be able to keep a defense honest. In total he ran for 619 yards and 12 touchdowns last season with an average run of 4.9 yards.

The Huskies now have 4 quarterbacks who will compete for the starting job during fall camp in addition to Jacob Sirmon, Dylan Morris, and Ethan Garbers. The other 3 underclassmen have a combined 0 college football starts.

Here are some clips of Thomson playing ASU from this past season.
