This last week was pretty busy on the recruiting trail with a commitment from a 3 star tackle (Robert Wyrsch), however there was also another new 2022 offer that was extended. 3 star tight end Chance Bogan from Lincoln HS, WA received a Husky offer. If his last name sounds familiar it should, his dad Curtis Bogan played for the Huskies in the 90’s. The Younger Bogan already holds offers from Tennessee, Colorado, Utah, and now UW. Listed at 6’4” and around 205 pounds Bogan looks like a bigger version of recent former Husky Hunter Bryant (his skill set is closer to a wideout now and he has good speed for the position). The Huskies look like they are one of the early favorites for Bogan.
With 6 commitments (4 coming in the last 2 weeks) the Huskies are starting to get a good nucleus of players for their 2021 class, and they are in on a bunch of big time recruits still. Here is a look at some guys who may be on Woof watch over the next several weeks or month:
4 star wideout Jabez Tinae from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA has been very high on UW for a long time. He was offered a few months ago as a slot wide receiver. The Huskies are battling the likes of Oregon, WSU, USC, ASU, and Utah for his commitment, but in the end I do believe Tinae will team up with his HS Quarterback (Sam Huard) and head to Montlake).
4 star tight end Moliki Matavao from Liberty HS, WA has been looking at UW seriously for a while now. The Huskies lost some momentum when they hired a new tight end coach however it seems like Matavao is seriously looking at UW again, and he plans on making his decision in the next few weeks. With offers from around the country (and rated as the 7th best tight end in the country per 247sports) the Huskies are battling the likes of Penn State, Oregon, and Georgia. I’m not saying he is headed to UW, right now, but his recruitment is one to watch over the next several weeks.
4 star offensive guard Owen Prentice is another local player who the Huskies have been recruiting for a long time. With offers from most of the pac 12 and Michigan the Huskies are primarily battling Stanford in the hopes of landing Prentice. Rated as one of the top guards in the country the Huskies would love to land Prentice and I think they will. If they can land Prentice the Huskies would already have 2 offensive line commits and probably only look to add 1 more player on the line to close out the class.
There are lots of other players that the Huskies are doing well with and there are sure to be more offers that may be extended and surprise commits to come. I just made my best guess on the next 3 guys who could be Dawgs soon.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
