Q&A With 3 Star 2021 Defensive Tackle Commit Kuao Peihopa

Q&A With Recent Husky Defensive Line Commit

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Penn State vs Washington Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Last week the Huskies received a commitment from 3 star defensive tackle Kuao Peihopa from Kamehameha HS, HI. Listed at 6’3” and around 300 pounds Peihopa looks like a future 3 technique player for the Huskies along the defensive line. I recently was able to ask him about what sold him on UW and his recruitment. Here is what he had to say:

When did you visit UW and what did you think about your UW visit?

I went up to UW for the Apple cup and my visit was awesome! It was a really vibrant place on gameday and you could feel how special that game was.

What made you decide that UW was the place that you would commit to?

I decided UW was the place for me because it checked all the boxes, academics, personal and player development, tough-nosed program and high quality coaching.

UW is recruiting you at defensive line, right?

Correct, I am being recruited as a D lineman.

What position on the line do you see yourself playing?

I see myself playing anywhere on the line really.

How would you describe your playing style?

I’d describe my playing style as physical, and smart. I try to know what’s happening before it does as much as possible.

What other schools were you looking at?

I was talking to many schools in the Pax 12 mainly Cal, ASU, and Nebraska as well.

Here are some of his highlights:
