- The biggest news of the weekend came on the recruiting front. The Dawgs made cut-down lists for three major prospects: 4* Arizona DB Stephen Ortiz, 3* Florida-by-way-of-Washington DB Philip Riley, and 4* Washington ATH Julien Simon. Ortiz and Riley both included UW, Mississippi St, Minnesota, and Penn St in their lists, which is a very unique combination. For more on UW recruiting, check out our comprehensive post here.
- NFL Draft Rite has a profile of Salvon Ahmed and pegs him as a 7th round pick.
- The Athletic Department’s academic updates are an underrated source of trash talk fodder (it’s also a good thing when the athletes are smart and hard working, but let’s focus on the trash talk). UW athletes matched a school record with a cumulative 3.27 GPA. 73% of athletes had a GPA above 3.0.
- The SI Husky Maven site has been running a fun series on Sonny Sixkiller. The newest update is about a head-to-head match-up with Jim Plunkett.
