Husky news is scarce these days but we’re still bringing you everything we can. Straight to it.
Football Dots
- Mike Vorel discusses the impact of COVID-19 on the recruiting calendar for Husky football and the chaos it’s causing.
- Do you want to spend the entirety of your time in social distancing watching Puka Nacua’s highlights from last year? Good decision

- Desmond Trufant yesterday joined Danny Shelton as former Huskies heading to play for the Detroit Lions
CB Desmond Trufant is signing with the #Lions, per source. The deal is for 2 years, $21M, $14M guaranteed.

- 247 Sports released their expanded rankings for the class of 2022 for the first time. The rankings are free but Dawgman talks about the Husky targets included behind their paywall.
Basketball Dots
- The Huskies are in good shape trying to land local Erik Stevenson who is transferring from Wichita State and averaged more than 11 points per game last season.
Wichita State transfer Erik Stevenson tells me that he has cut his list to the following schools (in no particular order):

Washington
Oregon
Gonzaga
Maryland
San Diego State
- Bobby Jones will also show up in the next dot but he’s playing (well not right now) abroad in Italy and hasn’t been able to leave his home in 5 days. He describes the experience.
- Finally, I’ve been waiting for this since the start of The Tournament but Tre Simmons has put together a Washington alumni team. It’s scheduled to start in July so hopefully we’ll be back to sports by then. The roster includes: Andrew Andrews, Justin Dentmon, Noah Dickerson, Malik Dime, Bobby Jones, and Robert Upshaw.
In honor of that let’s vote on your starting 5 since the beginning of the Lorenzo Romar era made up of guys who didn’t go on to significant roles in the NBA and/or were drafted. I excluded Will Conroy and Tre Simmons since they are coaching for the actual Huskies and this alumni team.
You get the player in the peak of their powers and it’s up to you if you choose to vote on best player, complementary players to form the best team, or just favorite player you’d like to see play one more time. Vote here and then list your full team in the comments.
