- The Washington men’s basketball slide continued on Saturday. Arizona State came into HecEd and beat the Huskies 87-83 for a fifth consecutive loss. Check out the game recap from the Seattle Times.
- Percy Allen dissected some of the issues that have led to UW’s slide. He points to a break down by the vaunted Husky defense as the chief culprit.
- The Husky women erased a 13-point deficit in the final three minutes against Cal, but lost in overtime. It was Cal’s first win in conference and the Dawgs dropped to 2-8.
- On a more positive note, Larry Stone looked into the culture of UW’s outstanding softball team and the role it plays in the team’s year in and year out success.
- The Husky football team got their first defensive commitment to the 2021 class on Friday. Zakhari Spears is a three-star defensive back with good size and speed.
- While most of the 2020 class is done, National Signing Day is on Wednesday, so the Huskies will look to fill out a few remaining slots. Check out our preview of what is left to do for this year’s recruiting class.
- Beloved Husky alum Dante Pettis did not see the field for the 49ers (at least that I could see) in Super Bowl 54. He also missed out on a chance at a ring due to Kansas City’s big comeback, but I’m guessing most Washingtonians are ok with that outcome.

- The Athletic posted an article on disappointing freshmen in college basketball. Not surprisingly, Jaden McDaniels was a significant subject of discussion.
