Husky coaches have been busy on the recruiting trail and some of their bigger targets are showing out at the pylon 7 on 7 tournament this weekend, in Vegas. There are a ton of Husky recruits at the tournament and here is a look at some of the bigger names:

5 Star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (who is down in Vegas with his 7 on 7 team HEIR) from Steilacoom HS, WA was recently bumped up to the #1 receiver ranking in the country per 247sports. Listed at 6’1” and around 190 pounds Egbuka has been blowing up with offers from around the country and among the schools that are standing out to him are UW, Ohio State, Clemson, and LSU. The Huskies are in a dog fight to try and land Egbuka. Right now it sounds like Egbuka is favoring Clemson and Ohio State but UW is right there and if they can convince him to stay home they will have added one of the more explosive players to come out of Washington in a long long time. Besides 5 star defensive tackle JT Tuimoloau, Egbuka is the biggest target for the Huskies in the 2021 class.

5 star quarterback, and current Husky commit, Sam Huard from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA (playing with FSP 7 on 7 down in Vegas). Huard has so far led his team to 3-0 record and has thrown TD’s to his. Huard has been throwing to some of the best wideouts in the country (most of them Husky targets). Most experts who have seen Huard at these 7 on 7 events have described him as a very accurate passer, with great anticipation, and an effortless throwing motion. When he arrives at Montlake Huard will easily be among the most decorated high schoolers to join the program.

4 star wideouts Jabez Tinae and Junior Alexander from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA are both at the event catching passes from Huard (on the FSP team). Both wideouts have Husky offers and are wideouts the Huskies would like to add to their wide receiver corps. The Huskies are doing well with both players and depending on who commits at the wide receiver position they may or may not have room for both players.

Another wideout who is playing with Team FSP is 4 star wideout Troy Franklin from Menlo Atherton HS, CA. Franklin who is rated by 247sports as the 4th best wideout in the country, has offers from around the country including Alabama, USC, Oregon, and Texas. The Huskies have offered and are doing well with Franklin whose Mom really likes the OKG program. Listed at 6’2” and around 175 pounds, Franklin has game breaking speed and would be another great target for Huard. Franklin will probably take some visits and commit to the program that fits him the best.

4 star linebacker Julien Simon from Lincoln HS, WA is another FSP player that the Huskies are after. Listed at around 6’2” and 220 pounds Simon has offers from around the country including Oregon, Penn State, USC, and Texas. The Huskies are recruiting Simon as a linebacker but he has enough athleticism to play on offense. If the Huskies can feel in Simon he will see the field right away.

That is all for now (it’s a tad bit slow on the recruiting front before spring practices start and Husky targets check out some of the practices).
