Happy Sunday Husky fans. After yesterday’s tough loss it’s time to move on to next weeks game and to also think about recruiting.
With 10 days left until the early signing period, Husky coaches are busy making sure all of their commits sign in the early signing period. It sounds like all of the commits will be signing on the 16th.
With only a few spots left in the class the Husky staff is focusing on landing 5 star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA. Rated as the #1 wide receiver in the 2021 class Egbuka has narrowed his list to Ohio State, Oklahoma and UW. This weekend Egbuka headed down to Oklahoma and check out Norman. No one really knows when Egbuka will choose to commit, however it seems like it’s a toss up between all three schools and it’s really going to come down to where Emeka thinks he will have the best chance to succeed and eventually develop into an NFL player. If I had to guess I’d say that UW will eventually win out but the Oklahoma visit is a big unknown and could throw a monkey wrench into the equation.
The Huskies also extended a new offer out in the 2021 class to 3 star tight end Ryan Hoerstkamp from Washington HS, MO. Hoerstkamp is currently committed to Missouri however it looks like he may be looking around a little. 247sports has Hoerstkamp rated as the 54th best tight end in the 2021 class. Alabama recently offered, and joined UW in trying to flip Hoerstkamp from Missouri. Listed at 6’4” and around 230 pounds Hoerstkamp has great ball skills for the tight end position and when I watch his highlights it looks like Hoerstkamp is an underrated player and would be a big pickup for the Huskies. The Huskies have a commitment from 1 tight end in the 2021 class and it looks like they may want to add another tight end in the 2021 class (they have a commitment from 4 star jc tight end Quentin Moore).
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
