Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Making A Run At A Top Texas Running Back

Happy Sunday Husky fans. I hope you had a good Christmas. There isn’t a ton going on regarding recruiting right now. However there are a few things to share.

The Huskies are working on their 2022 class and one player to keep an eye on is 4 star Emeka Megwa from Nolan Catholic HS, TX. Listed at around 6’0” and 225 pounds, Megwa just narrowed his list of schools to a top 12 list. The Huskies made the list and are joined by Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Florida, Baylor, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Auburn. Megwa is a big-time back that the Huskies are recruiting very heavily, running back coach Keith Bhonapha is leading the charge, and it sounds like they are at the top of Megwa’s list. He hasn’t been able to check out Seattle yet and the campus, but if he can I would assume the Huskies may be able to have a fighting chance to land his commitment. 247sports rates Megwa as the 21st Athlete in the 2022 and the 34th beta player in the state of Texas. When you watch his highlights I see a versatile back that looks a lot like Myles Gaskin to me, with a little more speed. The Huskies would love to land a player like Megwa, who would be a steal from the state of Texas.

The last piece of news, and I mentioned it last week, was that 4 star 2022 wide receiver CJ Williams from Mater Dei, HS, Ca was up in Seattle all last weekend. It sounds like Williams liked Seattle and the campus, enough so that the Huskies are probably in his top 3-4 schools right now. Listed at 6’2” and around 190 pounds Williams is a bigger wideout who catches almost everything thrown his way. With 4 star wide receiver Germie Bernard already in the boat the Huskies are looking to add at least 1 more wideout to the 2022 class and Williams would be a great addition.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
