Q&A With 2022 3 Star Husky Commit

Last week the Huskies got a commitment from 3 star athlete Anthony Jones from Liberty HS, NV. The Huskies are bringing in Jones as an outside linebacker to play the rush end position. Jones also plays tight end for his team, but he is pretty versatile but he has the ability to be all conference on defense. The Huskies were able to get Jones unofficially to check out Seattle and offered him shortly thereafter. Listed at around 6’5” and 240 pounds Jones has a good frame already. I was able to catch up with Jones to get some thoughts on the Huskies and his recruitment.

How did your visit go to Seattle and the UW?

The visit was great, I feel in love with Seattle as soon as I got there.

What was the highlight of the trip?

Just going around the city and training at FSP was the highlight of my trip.

Why did you think when UW offered you?

I was just really relived when they offered me because I knew that with this opportunity, my dreams could come true.

What made you decide that Uw was the right place for you?

Just talking to the coaches and building a connection with them was big for me. They’re really family oriented and that’s what helped me make my decision.

Which position is UW recruiting you

I will be playing outside linebacker/ DE for UW.

For Husky fans who haven’t seen you play, which player would you compare your game to?

I’m definitely going to be a player like Joe Tryon and Chase Young

Are you planning on enrolling early at UW or in June?

I will be enrolling early.

The Huskies have 3 commitments from Liberty High School in the 2022 class. That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
