Happy Sunday Husky fans. What a game last night and what a comeback for Jimmy Lake and his team.
After getting an unofficial visit (to see the stadium and city but not actually see the staff) from several 2022 prospects from Liberty HS, NV this last week the Huskies extended offers to 2 of those prospects (they already have a commitment from wideout Germie Bernard who also plays at Liberty High School).
3 star athlete (tight end and outside linebacker) Anthony Jones from Liberty HS, NV got offered by Jimmy Lake and his staff. Listed at 6’4” and around 240 pounds, Jones currently has offers from UW and UNLV. The Huskies are recruiting Jones as an athlete, and it looks like he will be brought in initially as a defensive end. Looking at his frame and his athleticism Jones could be a great athlete on the edge for the Huskies (able to play some coverage and also rush the passer). The Huskies like versatile athletes and Jones fits the bill as a guy who can play multiple positions. Last year 247sports timed his 40 at 4.7 which is pretty fast for a sophomore who is still filling out his frame. The Huskies appear to have the inside track to land Jones commitment in the 2022 class.
After a great phone call with @CoachK_UW and @CoachCato1 I am very excited and blessed to say that I have received my first Pac-12 offer to play at @UW_Football!!! @CoachLakeUDUB @RJRobbinsDahlin @HowlinHusky @LarsHanson @muraco_lhs #BowDown x #PurpleReign pic.twitter.com/VK8Vl7xTZ0

The Huskies also offered 2022 defensive tackle Sir Mells from Liberty HS, NV. Mells, who is listed at 6’4” and around 310 pounds is rated by 247sports as the 49th best defensive tackle in the 2022 class. Mells has a great frame for a true defensive tackle, and it sounds like he has really turned some heads this off season. Mells has recently been offered by San Jose State, Fresno state and UW. The Huskies appear to have the inside track in landing Mells commitment and if they do land him it looks like the Huskies would be done for defensive tackle recruiting in the 2022 class. It sounds like Mells will be committing in December, which points to the Huskies wrapping him up.
I'm BEYOND BLESSED to receive an OFFER on THANKSGIVING from my future Dline coch the great @MalloeMalloe from THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON #GoDawgs☔☔☔ @CoachCato1 @CoachLakeUDUB @CoachK_UW @scotthuffUW @CoachTFord @junioradams13 @muraco_lhs @Libertyotball @bangulo pic.twitter.com/kR3h8jWA1H

If the Huskies land Mells and Jones, they will both join 4 star wideout Germie Bernard who is currently committed to UW and is also from Liberty HS, NV. I am not a Husky historian but I have to think it’s very rare and has possibly never happened that the Huskies brought in 3 players from the same high school in the same class.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
