Happy Sunday Husky fans. The game yesterday was a great game showcasing Jimmy Lake’s program (and new offensive philosophy).
This weekend there were 3 prospects (all from the same school) who made their way up to check out Seattle and Montlake. They weren’t able to see the coaches or check out the facilities (other than the stadium) due to the restrictions in place and the lack of ability to complete an official visit.
4 star wide receiver Germie Bernard from Liberty HS, NV who is currently committed to UW was one of the prospects who made their way up north. Listed at 6’2” and around 195 pounds, Bernard is rated as the 24th best wide out in the 2022 class. The Huskies were able to beat out Michigan, Oregon, Miami, and Nebraska for his commitment. Bernard is a bigger wideout who should bring a physical presence to the wide receiver room.
Joining Bernard was his teammate and 3 star defensive tackle Sir Mells from Liberty HS, NV. Listed at 6’4” and around 310 pounds Mells is rated as the 49th best defensive tackle in the 2022 class. Mells doesn’t currently have a Husky offer, but he does hold offers from UNLV and San Jose State. It looks like Mells is a name to keep in the back of Husky fan minds, and a guy who may get a Husky offer later in the process. Mells has a good frame and looks like a good defensive tackle in the 2022 class. The Huskies have 3 offers out in the 2022 class to defensive tackles, so it looks like Mells may be a guy who get an offer later if they miss on their top targets.
3 star tight end Anthony Jones who also plays for Liberty HS, NV joined his teammates in visiting Montlake. Listed at 6’4” and around 240 pounds Jones is rated as the 33rd best tight end in the 2022 class. The Huskies already have Chance Bogan committed in the 2022 class (and are doing well with 4 star tight end Ryan Otton) so the Huskies may not have room for Jones. If the Huskies miss out on Otton Jones will be a name to keep in mind. Jones is very similar to Bogan in that they are both hybrid tight ends who are more pass catchers than they are blockers.

It looks like the trio also squeezed in some throwing with 5 star QB Sam Huard and 5 star wideout Emeka Egbuka who is a huge target for UW in the 2022 class.
Anyone spot a 5 star wideout in this pic? https://t.co/2bkrqksX3I
