Happy Sunday Husky fans. Hopefully your blood pressure has lowered after last nights game. With not much going on in the recruiting space I thought it would be a good idea to look at the 2021 targets left on the recruiting board. The Huskies currently have 15 commitments and are pretty much done for the 2021 class (due to a smaller senior class).
At wide receiver the Huskies are still after 5 star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA. Listed at 6’1” and around 190 pounds the Huskies are battling Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Clemson for his commitment. Egbuka has been taking his time and is planning on waiting a while to make a decision before he commits. With a new offense at UW, Egbuka has been waiting to see the offense to see if he can excel in it. Hopefully last nights offense is an aberration, and the Huskies will need to show an explosive offense that is wide receiver friendly (to convince Egbuka to stay home). Egbuka is rated as the #1 wide receiver in the country per 247sports. The Huskies have 1 committed wide receiver in the 2021 class (Jabez Tinae). Right now I would say the Huskies didn’t do themselves any favors in trying to land Egbuka but there is still time left to try and sway him (he won’t decide until January or February).
Along the defensive line the Huskies are after 5 star defensive tackle JT Tuimoloau from Eastside Catholic HS, WA. Listed at 6’4” and around 275 pounds The Huskies are battling USC, Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Oregon for his commitment. Right now I’d say the Huskies are probably running 3rd or 4th for JT, but much like Emeka there is a long ways to go in his recruitment. Tuimoloau is rated by 247sports as the #1 recruit in the country, which puts added pressure on the Huskies to keep him home. The Huskies could definitely use a versatile player like Tuimoloau who can play defensive end, defensive tackle, or tight end.
The last player the Huskies are still after (which could change) is 4 star defensive end Logan Fano from Timpview HS, UT. Fano, who is listed at 6’4” and around 240 pounds, is being recruited as a rush outside linebacker by the Huskies. Fano is rated by 247sports as the 22nd best weakside defensive end in the country. The Huskies are battling Utah for the commitment of Fano, who plans to take a mission and enroll in 2023. Right now it looks like Utah leads for Fano, but the Huskies continue to push and would love to add Fano to their 2021 class.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
