Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Make The Top 7 List Of A Major Target

Huskies Make Top 7 List Of A Major Target

NCAA Football: Eastern Washington at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Sunday Husky Fans. There is some good news that came out this last week for the Husky football program. It isn’t earth shattering news, but good news nonetheless.

5 star defensive lineman JT Tuimoloau from Eastside Catholic HS, WA just trimmed his list of schools to a top 7. Luckily for the Huskies they were included, and now have to focus on beating out Oregon, USC, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Michigan. Rated as the #1 player in the country by 247sports the Huskies are trying as best as they can to keep Tuimoloau home, however right now he is favoring leaving the state. Listed at 6’4” and around 280 pounds Tuimoloau can play inside or outside when he heads to college. Tuimoloau is the highest rated player to come out of the state Washington in the modern recruiting era. The Huskies need to land Tuimoloau to close out the 2021 class (they are trailing Ohio State for him). Tuimoloau is expected to wait until January or February and the Huskies will continue to recruit him until he makes his decision.

The Huskies are also still after 5 star wideout Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA. Egbuka has narrowed his list of schools to Oklahoma, Clemson, UW, and Ohio State. With Oklahoma struggling on the field that could help the Huskies (assuming they play well). The Huskies will need to show Egbuka that they have a wide receiver friendly system in order to land him and an explosive offense. In my opinion the Huskies have a better chance to land Egbuka but if they play well this season they should have a better than average chance at both.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
