When you start the season against an FCS team, you want to come out of the game feeling like you can conquer the world. The Huskies did just that, so there were lots of positive stories coming out of the weekend. Let’s take a look at some of the top ones.
- Mike Vorel of the Seattle Times had an analysis of the game. He also posted a notes column that includes some details on injured players.
- Behind The Athletic paywall, the excellent Christian Caple had his own breakdown of what we learned from week one, focused on the surprisingly aggressive offensive approach and Jacob Eason’s early execution.
- Elsewhere in paywall land, Dawgman looked into all the freshmen who contributed right out of the gate.
- How about some Husky tweets?
Btw Hurts and Manziel are the only player in the last 15 years to have 300 yards rushing and 150 yards rushing in a game, but in 1999 Marques Tuiasosopo had 302 yards passing and 207 yards rushing against Stanford in a 35-30 Huskies win

"I swear to you it came from heaven. I saw it went into the clouds and then came down. ... I don't know how he did it, but he did it with ease."
- But wait, there’s more. There were even some headlines off the gridiron. The women’s soccer team got its first win of the year. In rowing, both the Husky men and Husky women won four medals at the world championships.
