Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Offer Another Tight End

Recruiting Roundup

NCAA Football: Rose Bowl Game-Ohio State vs Washington Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Huskies have started fall practice and recruiting has slowed down a tad, but recruiting really stops. Right before the Huskies started practice on Friday they extended an offer to 3 star tight end Jake Overman from Servite HS, CA. Overman, who is listed at 6’3” and around 231 pounds, is rated by 247sports as the 55th best tight end in the country. It’s possible that the news of Jacob Kizer’s health is playing into the Huskies need for a 3rd tight end in the 2020 class (they may have known about it for a while). Overman currently holds offers from the likes of Oregon State, Utah, Cal, Colorado, and Arizona. When I watch his film I see a typical Husky tight end in the Coach Pete system, which is a good blocker and capable of catching a few passes a game. Overman will probably visit the Huskies at some point this fall, but right now he is favoring Oregon State. Here is a look at some of his highlights:

As I mentioned last week the Huskies are in a good spot for a few players who may decide soon. The Huskies have 15 commits currently and 247sports has the class ranked as the 20th best in the country. Of the 15 commitments 11 are on the offensive side of the ball (the Huskies will only add another tight end and wide receiver). The Huskies are going to take around 22 players in the 2020 class and once the season starts they will get some of their top remaining targets up for official visits (I.e 4 star linebacker Jordan Banks, and 4 star defensive lineman Xavier Carlton).

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
