The Huskies are already around 2⁄3 of the way through the 2020 class (with 15 commitments already), so I thought it would be a good time to look forward to the 2021 class. Husky coaches have already put a ton of of work in the 2021 class, including landing the top overall quarterback Sam Huard from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA. In the 2021 class the state of Washington is loaded with talent and it seems like the Huskies are poised to keep most of the elite players at home.
Currently UW has offered 31 prospects in the 2021 class and here is a look at some of the names you should keep an eye on:
5 Star defensive tackle JT Tuimoloau from Eastside Catholic HS, WA is rated as the #1 player in the 2021 class currently. Listed at 6’5” and around 275 Tuimoloau is an incredible athlete for his size (he has played DB for his team), and currently he holds offers from schools around the country including Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, USC, and several others. UW is after Tuimoloau, and would love to add him to their 2021 class but they have some stiff competition for him. UW is doing pretty well right now with him. Here are some of his highlights:
5 star athlete Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA is currently rated as the #8 player in the 2021 class, and he is a player the Huskies would love to add to their roster. Listed at 6’1” and around 190 pounds Egbuka plays both wideout and defensive back, but right now it seems like the Huskies are recruiting him as a wideout. With 4.4 speed Egbuka would be a weapon anytime he touched the ball to the take it to the house. Egbuka, currently holds 30 offers including offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, and Clemson. Much like Tuimoloau the Huskies will have to battle some bigtime schools for Egbuka’s commitment. Here are some of his highlights:
4 star wideout Troy Franklin from Menlo Atherton HS, CA recently visited and was offered a scholarship by UW. Listed at 6’2” and around 170 pounds Franklin holds offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, USC, and several other major powers. Franklin is currently rated as the 10th best player and 2nd best prospect in California in the 2021 class. The Huskies are doing very well with Franklin who is also playing with FSP for their 7 on 7 team (playing alongside Sam Huard and Tuimoloau). Here are some of his highlights:
4 star linebacker Julien Simon from Lincoln HS, WA is another top end player in the state that the Huskies are after. The Huskies recently offered Simon after watching him at camp, and he was offered as a linebacker. Listed at roughly 6’2” and around 220 pounds Simon currently holds offers from Oregon, Penn State, USC and several other schools. 247sports currently has Simon rated as the 33rd best player in the class. Here are some of highlights:
4 star safety Will Latu from Bethel HS, WA recently was offered by UW as a safety. Listed at 6’2” and around 221 pounds Latu is a bigtime Safety that the Huskies really like. Rated by 247sports as the 249th best player in the 2021 class. Latu has announced he will commit to a school in October and right now it looks as though the Huskies are leading for his services over schools like USC, Tennessee, ASU, and OSU. Here are some of his highlights:
The Huskies are doing very well with most of these players and and there several other top players that the Huskies are doing well with. If the Huskies can land most of the players I listed above and a few others (I.E. 4 star linebacker Ethan Calvert from Oaks Christian HS, and 4 star tight end Molokai Matavao from Liberty HS, NV) the 2021 class will go down as one of the most highly rated classes that UW has ever brought in.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
