The Husky coaches learned some good news today when 3-star tight end Mason West from La Habra HS, CA committed to UW after recently being offered. That is the same high school which recent Husky graduate and star DT Greg Gaines attended.

The Huskies have been looking to add at least 2 tight ends in the 2020 class (which they now have with West and Mark Redman in the boat). West was a player that they saw down at a regional camp in California and offered him after seeing him in person.

West, who is listed at 6’4” and around 240 pounds, is rated by 247Sports as the 45th best tight end in the country. UW joined Boise State and Oregon State in offering West. When you watch his film you see a lot of similar characteristics as former Husky tight ends Drew Sample and Will Dissly. Last year West posted 22 catches for 370 yards and 5 touchdowns. Here are some highlights of West in action:

West is the 10th commit in a class that is expected to be 20-22 players. That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
