Football Dots

  • Changes are happening to the bowl lineup across college football and the Pac-12 will add the Los Angeles Bowl against a Mountain West opponent as well as the Independence Bowl against the ACC.
  • The UW Marching Band paid tribute to the folks of Grant County on Sunday who helped after their bus overturned on the way to the Apple Cup on Thanksgiving night last year.
  • Scott Eklund interviews Kentwood HS DB Alphonse Oywak who has had a stellar spring and while he doesn’t yet have a Husky offer, he is in close communication with Washington.
  • 4-star Arizona DB Jacobe Covington talks to 247’s Blair Angulo in preparation of his upcoming official visit to Seattle.
  • Just missed...
  • Betting public seems to have a better grasp on things than the national media and their Justin Herbert infatuation...

Basketball Dots

  • The Utah Jazz SBN site SLC Dunk did a preview on Matisse Thybulle before the upcoming NBA Draft including some Q&A with a certain UWDP writer...
  • Jeff Goodman’s updated Top 25 has the Huskies ranked at #23 and second in the conference behind Arizona.
  • Jon Wilner includes his early 2019 All Pac-12 teams which has incoming UW freshman Isaiah Stewart as the 1st team Center and incoming UW freshman Jaden McDaniels as a 3rd team Forward.
  • He also includes his revised early Pac-12 standings and the Huskies have dropped a spot from being the front-runners with the loss of Jaylen Nowell despite the addition of Jaden McDaniels.
  • Jaylen Nowell leaving for the draft was part of an explosive trend of players leaving college early despite having no guarantee they’ll get drafted.

Non-Revenue Dots

  • A pair of former Husky golfers have qualified for the U.S Open in Pebble Beach
  • If it makes you feel any better about the Huskies losing in the 10th inning to UCLA on Sunday, the Bruins turned around and throttled Oklahoma by a score of 16-3 in game 1 of the championship. UW will have a good chance to claim they were 2nd best team in the country if UCLA wins again tonight.
  • The Daily takes a look at Track and Field Nationals which will see 12 Huskies competing across 13 events beginning Wednesday.
