The Huskies landed a commitment from 3 star running Jay’veon Sunday from Connally HS, TX. Sunday, who is listed at 5’10” and around 195 pounds, committed to UW over offers from Utah, Colorado, Arkansas, Houston, and Baylor. 247sports has him rated as the 66th best running back in the nation and 138th best player in the state of Texas. The Huskies hosted Sunday on an unofficial visit earlier in the year that by all accounts he loved.
I’ve had a lot of cool moments in coaching but nothing compares to bringing this young man to the University of Washington to receive a full scholarship offer in person. Easy to see why these guys win like they do #suCCess #wewillwin @Athletic_jay_ @KbTheStable @CoachPeteUW pic.twitter.com/DvLLMqwGN0

The Huskies will be bringing in 2 running backs in the 2020 class, and Sunday is a bigger back who is in the mold of Lavon Coleman. When you watch his film you see a player who is a long strider and powerful back who isn’t afraid to run uphill. Sunday ran for over 2300 yards while carrying it right at 300 times. Here is a look at some of his highlights:
