Husky coaches received some good news today when 3 star athlete Sawyer Racanelli from Hockinson HS, WA committed to UW. Racanelli was offered by the Huskies last month ago while he was on campus. After the offer the Huskies immediately held the inside track to his land his commitment due to his family’s ties to Petersen (his dad actually played for Coach Pete at PSU). Listed at 6’3” and around 200 pounds, Racanelli is being recruited as a wideout by the Huskies, but other teams have been recruiting him as a linebacker/safety. Racanelli chose UW over offers from UCLA, Michigan, WSU, and Cal.
When you watch his film you can see that Racanelli has good football speed and also very good football instincts. I could foresee Racanelli possibly moving over to the defensive side of the ball if he puts some weight on but if he stays on offense he will be a bigger wideout that should be able to run great routes, and give UW another big target on the outside.
COMMITTED...
