After a somewhat quiet day on the recruiting front with some Husky targets choosing other schools the Huskies were able to land one of the top players on their board. Most experts predicted that he would commit to UW and that happened when 4 star inside linebacker Daniel Heimuli out of Menlo Atherton committed this afternoon. Heimuli had offers from around the country including USC, Oregon, Alabama, and LSU. Oregon made a strong push for Heimuli but in the end his relationship with Husky coaches pushed them over the top. Heimuli will be joining his teammate and current Husky signee Noa Ngalu at Washington. 247 sports has Heimuli rated as the 9th best inside linebacker in the country. Listed at 6’2” and around 225 pounds he has ideal size for the Mike linebacker position. When you watch him play you can really see why his nickname by Husky fans is Danny the Hammer.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
