Despite repeated overtures from Notre Dame, Jacob “Asa” Turner has stuck with his verbal commitment and is now a Husky! The versatile athlete from Carlsbad, California projects as a safety and is ranked on 247 as the #10 athlete in the country (#14 composite). He runs extremely well with his 6-3 frame, and boasts very good open field tackling skills. His length also aids him in coverage as he can reach to swat away passes, and is a very smooth looking athlete for as big as he is.
Asa Turner is ALL DAWG.

At his size, the feeling was he would transition to OLB in college, and while that may happen, he is adamant about being a DB. And with good reason, because he projects as a helluva safety prospect. At this point, do we have any reason not to believe Jimmy Lake can can make a prospect as talented as Turner into a key member of an elite secondary and future high round NFL draft pick?
He hasn’t posted his senior highlights quite yet, but below is his junior film, and shows what type of athlete the Huskies are getting:
WELCOME TO MONTLAKE, ASA!
