Recruiting Roundup: A Look At The Top 2021 Offensive Targets Outside Of WA State

Looking At Some Top Offensive Targets Outside Of WA In 2021

NCAA Football: Washington State at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

After looking at some of the top Husky targets for 2021 in Washington state last week I wanted to look at some of the top Husky offensive targets outside Washington state. Here are some guys who the Huskies have offered and are recruiting:

5 star wideout Troy Franklin from Menlo Atherton HS, CA has a Husky offer and is being recruited pretty heavily by the Dawgs. Listed at 6’2” and around 170 pounds Franklin is rated by 247sports as the best wideout in the country and 10th best player overall. With offers from around the country the Huskies are battling Alabama, Oregon, and USC primarily for his services. The Huskies currently have two of his former teammates on their roster (Linebacker Daniel Heimuli, and defensive lineman Noa Ngalu). It sounds like Franklin’s mom really likes UW and the built for life program. Franklin is a bigger wideout with great speed and he could be a major weapon for the Huskies if they were able to land him.

4 star tight end Moliki Matavao from Liberty HS, NV was one of the first tight ends offered by UW. Listed at 6’6” and around 240 pounds Matavao is rated by 247sports as the 2nd best tight end in the 2021 class. With offers from around the country including most major programs the Huskies will have stiff competition for his services. I am sure the Huskies letting go Tight End Coach Jordan Paopao could change the recruitment of Matavao but there is a long ways to go until he will make his decision. The Huskies will more than likely bring in 1 or 2 tight ends in the 2021 class.

4 star tight end Jermaine Terry from Kennedy HS, CA is another tight end the Huskies have offered and are recruiting pretty heavily. Listed at 6’4” and around 235 pounds Terry is rated by 247sports as the 4th best tight end in the 2021 class. Right now Terry is more of a receiving tight end but he has the ability to also be a good blocker down the road as well. Along with offers from UW, Terry has offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Oregon.

Offensive tackle Kuao Peihopa from Kamehameha HS, HI is one of a few offensive lineman the Huskies have offered in the 2021 class (and have a realistic shot with). Listed at 6’3” and around 306 pounds Peihopa has more of a guard frame than a tackle. Rated by 247sports as the 5th best prospect in Hawaii in 2021 the Huskies will probably take 2-3 offensive lineman in the 2021 class. Along with an offer from the Huskies Peihopa has offers from ASU, Hawaii, and Fresno State.

3 star running back Tavierre Dunlap from De Valle HS, TX is one of 3 running backs in Texas that UW has offered (and also the player the Huskies have the best shot at). Listed at around 6’0” and 195 pounds 247sports has him rated as the 34th best running back in the 2021 class. With offers from Duke, USC, Utah, and Colorado the Huskies will have some competition for his commitment however they were one of his earlier offers. The Huskies will probably take 1 running back in the 2021 class after taking 2 in 2020.

The Huskies have offered several other players but the players I have listed above are some of the guys I think they have the best shot at. The Huskies loaded up on offense in the 2020 class especially on the line so they will probably have a smaller offensive class in 2021. Also the 2021 class is loaded in the state of WA and the Huskies already have their QB committed in 5 star Sam Huard and are looking good for 5 star wideout Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA and 3 star wideout Junior Alexander from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
