The Huskies have bolstered their interior offensive line with the commitment of Ferndale’s athletic guard Geirean Hatchett. The four-star from Northern Washington made his commitment to Washington official, choosing the Huskies from among 30 offers that spanned the country.

The Huskies, who offered him early in his sophomore year, won out over their toughest competitor, Oklahoma, which was the first school to offer Hatchett and the lone school to which he took an official visit (other than UW).

A four-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, Hatchett is ranked as the No. 7 offensive guard nationally in the 2020 class and the No. 3 prospect in the state of Washington.

Hatchett said he will be on campus in January as an early enrollee. He played in a heavy run based system in high school so expect Hatchett to redshirt while he works on his pass blocking ability. At least one opening at guard will be available after next year due to the graduation of Luke Wattenberg so that would Hatchett’s first chance to see major playing time.
